Hunter Peress

Hunter learned the fundamentals of photography in an actual darkroom in the early 90's. Powerful imagery surrounded his childhood at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where his father would bring him every Sunday. His goal is simple: beautiful and effective storytelling on photo or film.

He has experience in studio, large events, the arts, sports, commercial and journalism. He has filmed shorts, music videos, standup comedy specials, advertising spots and weddings.

Ido Dar-el


Ido is a pro big wave surfer and an artist. Ido is a pioneer artist, fusing many areas in his life. When he is not  travelling alone and risking his life in huge waves all over the globe, he creats art through sculpture, photography drawing, and animation.

In the last eight years ido has adopted sign language as part of his entity. The artwork reflects the discovery and the evolution of himself as a deaf person.

Karen and Kelly

Licensed NYC Tour Guides

Karen grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Her background is primarily in the arts (film, television, and theater) as a singer, actor, and script supervisor. New York City, specifically Hell’s Kitchen, has been her home for the past 24 years. For the past 8 years, she has been showing people NYC as a licensed New York City Tour Guide. Karen is thrilled to collaborate with the Visual Village Festival to offer this tour. Karen was introduced to American Sign Language and Deaf culture about 8 years ago through the Sign Language Center. Karen feels that learning ASL, as well as learning from the Deaf perspective has been one of the most joyful, challenging, and enriching experiences of her life. She is a recent graduate of LaGuardia’s ASL-English Interpretation Program.

Kelly is Karen’s twin sister and nine minutes younger. Growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, she always dreamed of calling NYC home! A licensed New York City Tour Guide since 2007, she has had the privilege of showing this amazing city to numerous groups from all over America and the world. She was introduced to ASL at The Sign Language Center in Manhattan eight years ago.  Kelly recently graduated from LaGuardia Community College’s ASL-English Interpretation Program and is thrilled to be entering the Interpreting Profession. She looks forward to working with, learning from, and serving the vibrant, rich and diverse Deaf Community.

Chase Burton

A lifelong affair with cinema led Chase Burton to a four-and-a-half year stint at California State University, Northridge. Somewhere in between, for a year, he studied abroad down under in Brisbane, Australia. At the end of 2009, he earned a B.A. in Screenwriting.

To celebrate the end of twenty-two years of schooling, Chase embarked alone on a three-month sojourn across Europe. While backpacking with a 400-page notebook, Chase filled it with handwritten short stories, conversations with strangers and rough screenplays.

Chase hails from sunny Ventura, California and currently resides in also sunny Austin, Texas with his lady, Haley McBride, his dog, Rumo, and his cat, Ponyo.

Emilio Insolera

Insolera was born profoundly deaf to Italian deaf parents in Buenos Aires, Argentina and was raised in Italy. As a Fulbrightand Roberto Wirth scholar, he received his bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Film from Gallaudet University and his master's degree in Mass Communication with Summa Cum Laude from University of Rome La Sapienza.[2][3][4] Upon completing his studies, Insolera settled down in New York City and worked for MTVTime Out New York and ELLE.




Seth Gore

Seth Gore is an entrepreneurial artist who does web software on the side.  He primarily focuses on creating works that attempt to bring a different perspective to ordinary things. He has worked on several web apps that aim to enable people to do more in expressing things creatively.
